7 Reasons to Buy Gold Coins | Bosmol Social Media News

For those looking to protect their wealth, it may be time to consider gold coins. Those who buy gold coins as an addition to their asset portfolio will enjoy a wide variety of benefits and better security for their wealth. Here is a look at seven of the most compelling reasons that you should consider purchasing American Gold Eagle coins today.

1. Gold Coins are a “Pure” Asset

Almost every asset has a variety of variables that will affect its overall worth. Whether it is stock in a new company or the U.S. dollar, the future value of these assets is not always guaranteed. An American Gold Eagle, on the other hand, has intrinsic value that will not diminish due to a single company collapsing or the credit rating of a country going down.

2. Geopolitical Uncertainties

Gold coins will not just maintain their value when global finances have become shaky, they will also maintain their value when geopolitics become unpredictable. This is one of the reasons that gold is often referred to as the “crisis commodity” due to the fact that it is a relatively safe haven in an otherwise erratic economy.

3. Mining and Production is Down

While there will always be dips in the mining of gold and production of gold coins, the past few years have shown a general downturn in the distribution of gold. For those that invest quickly, these means that prices will continue to increase, especially if mining output remains low. The average mine takes upwards of 7 years to come into full production, which results in a welcome increase in value for some time.

4. Portfolio Diversification

Anyone who has started to consider portfolio options will quickly see just how important diversification is. Long gone are the days in which a handful of bonds or stocks in a single company are suitable for increasing one’s wealth. Those that purchase American Gold Eagles will have a unique and lucrative addition to their overall assets.

5. Gold Coins are Portable and Liquid

When purchasing coins from Rosland Capital, gold coin owners will have a tangible and liquid asset at their fingertips. Gold coins can be stored in any secure location and can be moved at any time. For those that would like to return to cash at any point, gold coins are some of the most liquid assets and can be immediately sold in almost any market.

6. A Potential Return to Gold-Backed Currencies

Governments throughout the world are coming under increasing pressure to return to gold-backed currency. While not every nation is going to immediately make the transition from fiat currency to a gold standard, even just a few growing economies could increase the value of gold dramatically if they make this transition.

7. Increased International Demand

China and India are the two largest consumers of gold in the world, and both of their populations and economies are on the rise. Any gold coins and gold products will increase in value due to international demand, and this means that the booming populations of China and India will help to maintain a steady increase in the value of this precious metal.

These seven reasons are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the value of gold and gold coins. Those looking to diversify their portfolios and protect their wealth should take a closer look at this option.

Lead times for the Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus | Bosmol Social Media News

Apple iPhone 6The Apple iPad Air 2 and the mini 3 were recently announced last month. Both these products are found to be having short lead times. Across countries such as Canada, USA, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, France, UK and Germany, the lead time for the iPad Air 2 is of 1-3 business days whereas for the mini 3, it is a total of 24 hours. Over a year ago, the iPad Air had lead times of 5-7 working days after a week of their availability. The Retina mini too had lead times ranging between 5-7 and 5-10 working days a year ago. The two options to suggest this could be that either the company had manufactured a number of units for the first day of sales or the demand did not rise for the product.

Out of the 15 Apple websites of various countries were checked, it was found that for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, lead times did not change. For the iPhone 6, lead times are around 7 to 10 working days whereas for the 6 Plus, the lead time is 3-4 weeks. On the Verizon website, the lead time for the iPhone 6 had four different models, each having similar or shorter lead times than one week ago and with three of them being even longer. The iPhone 6 Plus lead times had 6 models with lead times shorter than a week ago with one model having longer lead times.

On the AT&T website, lead times for both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus remained the same. The model for the iPhone 6 with 16 GB had a lead time of one to two weeks’ worth of working days; the 64 GB model had lead times of 21-28 working days and the 128 GB had the shortest lead time of all with 3-5 business days. The iPhone 6 Plus had 28-35 working days lead time for all three of its models i.e. the 16 GB, 64 GB and the 128 GB models.

iPhone 6 lead times for spring have increased with 64 GB models going from 2-4 weeks of lead time to 4-6 weeks of lead time. 2 out of the 3 128 GB models have also experienced the same. The iPhone 6 Plus models had their lead times shortened to 2-4 weeks for the 2/3 64 GB models.

The longest lead times are found to be associated with the 64 GB models on the websites of AT&T, Verizon and Vodafone. This indicates that these have the highest demand. With the configurations for the iPhone 6 being more than $100 in comparison to other iPhones, and with the 64 GB memory upgrade costing $100 over the $200 charged previously, customers are preferring to opt for upgrading their phones rather than sticking with their 16 GB models. This has also caused the average selling price of the iPhone to reach $603 this past September. With Apple and its suppliers continuing to increase production, the average selling price for the upcoming December quarter should increase once again.

Lead time is very important for every business and should be as short as possible. No customer would like to wait long periods of time to get their hands on any product that they may have purchased. The same applies for Apple iPhones. With the demand being so high for these phones and with their popularity constantly on the rise with newer models being released, every buyer wishes to own the phone as soon as it is released; not having to wait a number of weeks after placing their order to get their hands on the product. All customers want their products delivered to them as soon as possible which is why Apple and other companies need to keep the lead time for their products short. Not only would this keep customers satisfied but it would prevent the company from getting an image of one which does not give out its products on time. Every business needs to be efficient in terms of its production and sales and if they are unable to match with the demand, the demand is eventually likely to decrease. Thus to avoid this issue, shorter lead times should be the goal.

The Microsoft Band in the Wearable Smartphone Market | Bosmol Social Media News

Microsoft BandRecently, Microsoft brought a surprise to the tech world by introducing a fitness tracking wristband which comes with an app and cloud computing technology which can track fitness and health related data and the best part is that it is actually very good. The band costs $199 and is proof that the company wishes to integrate its Microsoft Health platform with other items, which can be worn such as the Jawbone along with gathering data from Samsung Android and iPhone devices.

In comparison to its competition, this band is a full-featured device, which might actually be considered as the most flexible device available. It contains notifications for incoming calls and text messages, emails as well calendar items along with fitness tracking which included monitoring the heart rate. This feature is still considered to be quite rare in a number of other fitness bands.

The band also tracks steps, estimates the number of calories burned during a certain exercise and has a GPS system built in which can track the cycling or running route you use. It even has the ability to track your movement while you sleep.

A number of other features can be achieved by pairing the band with a Windows Phone such as the ability to use voice commands to activate Cortana which is a digital assistant similar to Siri and Google voice controls. Text messages can also be replied to using your voice.

It would be difficult to find another band which does the same things that the Microsoft Band performs and that too, across a range of platforms. The Pebble Smart Watch, while working on Android and iOS does not include advanced fitness features which are found in the Microsoft Band. The Fitbit Flex and Jawbone Up have apps on Android and iPhone however these do not have the smart-watch style of notifications. Similarly, the Gear line of devices by Samsung which includes the GearFit works only with Galaxy phones. The Apple Watch too only works with iPhones. Hence, the cross platform compatibility is a very smart move taken by Microsoft along with some of the features it has built into its Health app.

The workouts are not very easy to navigate and you can have only one workout on the band at one time. However if you plan ahead, it is good to know which workout is next without having to check the phone to see what workout is next.

The battery life is also quite good in comparison to other smart watches. Microsoft has promised 48 hours and slightly more can be achieved if the time display is kept off for most of the time. The band is also made to be dust and water resistant.

The Microsoft band however is not very attractive. The design is quite blocky and industrial with a thick rubber band. The middle of the band contains a power button while there is an action button on the right side of the display. Three sizes are available; small, medium and large and a sliding clasp allows the band to be adjusted so that it can fit well.

The band is the most comfortable when it is worn with the screen on the inside of the wrist which is opposite to the way you would normally wear a watch. This is not too bad as it makes notifications more subtle.

The interface of the watch is similar to that of a Windows Phone; you can customize the band by selecting the color of the screen and the design of the background. The tiles on the touch screen of the band can also be customized; it can display up to 12 screens which includes texts, emails, calls, calendar invites, running data, exercise, sleep, weather, guided workouts, Twitter and Facebook notifications.

Overall, the device works well and the apps are easy to navigate and the heart rate monitoring is certainly a novelty which gives the device an edge.

13 Ways To Get Online Customer Reviews | Bosmol Social Media News

Online Customer ReviewsReviews for a product, business, service, or anything else are vital now a day. Especially with the ease of simply doing a Google search to find thousands of reviews from multiple 3rd party websites. It can be treacherous as there are many false and paid reviews out there, so you must always be skeptical and browse through a few sources before making a final decision as a consumer.

As a business you are always striving to obtain more reviews. As more reviews transpires into trustworthiness, which equates to sales. More sales = more revenue. A win-win situation has arisen, but how do you obtain these reviews?

You do not want to come of as pushy or begging for reviews, so what is the secret. We all know upset customers will leave a review, whereas satisfied customers are less likely to leave any feedback. How do we get around this problem? Listed below are some of the techniques I have used in the past for clients and have seen great success.

  1. Ask Customers – This is one of the easiest and most effective way to obtain reviews. Ask the client what they think of your service and if they would post a review online (as long as thy are a happy client)

  2. Act Swiftly – Do not wait a couple of days or weeks. When getting customers to leave reviews it is important that it happens that day or a few days later. Anything longer and the customer will have forgotten about it and moved onto something else.

  3. Emails – Sending out emails is a great way to connect with past, future, and existing clients. It is always good to email clients after finishing a project, completing a job, selling a product to make sure everything is working properly. In this email you can offer links to your review sites such as Yelp, Google Maps, your own site, etc.

  4. Extra Functionality –Many sites offer users that leave reviews new products that may be of interest to them. Amazon is big on this; when you leave a review you will be shown products tat go along with that product already purchased. This simplifies the buying process.

  5. Publish Reviews – Everyone likes to read reviews about what your business has to offer from third party sites, but it is often helpful to crate a reviews page on your website. Create a section devoted to customer testimonials where users have the option to add their own reviews. This adds a sense of trust and confidence to potential buyers.

  6. Third Party Reviews- It is a great idea to add a live stream of reviews from third party authority sites such as Yelp, Google Maps, YellowPages, etc.

  7. Incentives – Often times, especially for new businesses, it is a good idea to offer an incentive to users that leave reviews. These can be a percentage off their next order, money off a service, or anything else that can be a bargaining tool. This is a good short-term plan, but in the long run ti can backfire. If someone outs that your are offering free services for positive reviews your creditability can be ruined.

  8. Samples – Free stuff is always something will admire, but like the above scenarioit can backfire. If it does backfire your company is in a lot of trouble and this type of online reputation management is difficult to repair.

  9. Borrow Reviews – If your company is selling a specific type of product that is popular amongst consumers you can take reviews from the company website and third party sites such as Amazon, eBay, Overstock, and others as factual reviews. Just make sure to give credit to the sites where the reviews were taken from. Once your business has been established and has original reviews you can remove those taken from third party websites.

  10. Using Social Media- Many companies do not realize the power and influence social media sites have on their brand appearance. Many times people will do a company search and the top sites will be the company’s site along with their social media channels. This means having a positive influence on these channels is vital. Make sure posts from users on social media sites are appropriate and if not respond to them accordingly. Do not be hastily, but simply try and resolve any issue.

  11. Reach Out – Find people who have reviewed similar products or services and see if they would be willing to write a review for you. This is a great tactic, as the people you are targeting have already shown an interest and are most likely knowledgeable in the field. This is great for credibility, especially if you find influencers in your niche to leave a review.

  12. Keep it simple – Make it easy for users to leave reviews. This means giving users options to leave reviews on different third party sites. Post the URL’s to your Yelp pages or another sites. Do not make users search the web as they will often times be discouraged and give up. The easier it is to leave a review, the more likely you are to receive that review.

  13. Buying Reviews –This is something that occurs all the time, but is highly frowned upon. We do not recommend ever using this tactic, as it is deceitful and unethical. Make sure to obtain real, truthful reviews. Unfortunately, there is a large market for fake reviews. People will spend thousands of dollars to get reviews removed or hidden. It is a deceitful tactic, but unfortunately there is no way to thwart this currently.

By following these techniques your business will see your review count skyrocket. Reviews are a way potential buyers gauge if something is worth their investment. Therefore it is vital to get positive reviews for your business using the above techniques.

5 Steps To Maximize Infographics Exposure | Bosmol Social Media News

Infographic Promotion TechniquesJust like with building a website; no one will find it without the proper marketing. The same goes for infographics. If you research and design the best infographic, but have no way of marketing it to the public more often than not it will fail. This is an unfortunate truth, but following the steps below can help avoid such infographic pitfalls.

  1. Research – Make sure to do your homework when it comes to researching a subject. Cite your facts and double check for accuracy. The last thing you want is to spend hours of time designing a misinforming infographic. Always check where the numbers came from and make sure it makes sense.

  2. Design – This is the most important stage of an infgraphic. Without a good design all the time and effort is gone to waste. You need to find a way to organize all the data in a clear and concise way that is easy to read. It must make sense and flow throughout the entire infographic. This can be difficult and takes practice.

  3. Publish – You want to publish the new infographic on your website or blog first as a way to get credit for having the first copy. This is for SEO purposes and will help your infographic rank in Google and other search engines. Write a few paragraphs of text before and after the infographic as the search engines love to see original content and the infographic can back up the text. A few paragraphs are all you need here. Below the infographic you want to have a click to embed box where people can copy a strip of HTML code and paste it directly to their website and have the infographic appear with credit back to your site. This is the beauty of an infographic. Also, you want to have social sharing buttons on this page so others can like, tweet, share, pin, etc. the infographic to their personal social networks.

  4. Directories – After you have added the infographic to your own website or blog you want to begin to distribute it across the web. This means finding infographic sites such as infographic.ca or free image sharing sites such as flickr. There are thousands of websites available so pick and chose those that receive high volumes of traffic and those that are niche related as these will have the biggest impact on your search engine rankings and exposure online.

  5. Press Release – After all of the above steps have been completed it wise to craft a press release about your newly created infographic. Write an original AP style piece and submit it to free and paid press release directories across the web. This will bring in an influx of new traffic and backlinks to your website.

By following these steps you will maximize the exposure your infographic gets to the world. It is just like building an amazing website, if no one is going to it then it is useless. The same goes for infographics. You can spend tens of thousands of dollars doing the market research and creating the infographic, but without the proper exposure no one will see it.

Visual Media Enhances Social Media Marketing Campaigns | Bosmol Social Media News

Visual Social Media MarketingPeople may read words and literature umpteen number of times, but a picture speaks thousand words. In this article, we discuss the importance of visual media in social media marketing strategies. Presently, multimedia microblogs have caught the attention of social media marketers because pictures actually accentuate the brevity of content.

Given the exponential increase in the popularity of photo-sharing sites such as Instagram and Pinterest, we can certainly declare that digital communications has catapulted visual media. A tweet may be just 150-character long but a picture accompanying the tweet only increases the relevance of those 150-characters.

Most people get hooked onto your content provided you also associate relevant pictures with those posts. One needs to bear in mind the expectations of the target audience while posting those pictures.

Video, audio, and text may be the key fundamentals of content, but visuals in the form of pictures and images help encapsulate the attention of your target audiences.

Most people would prefer seeing a neat picture of any consumer gadget before deciding to purchase it. So, if you write a review of a consumer gadget, make sure you include a decent image of the product with the review. Graphics also form an integral component of visual media. While describing any comprehensive procedure, animations and graphics only add to the appeal.

Suppose you are launching a series of technical books on a certain type of software. You need not add all the images of these books onto the website or blog, rather you can incorporate graphics and animations in the form of “Call to action tab”. The “Call to action tab” can be linked to your Facebook or Pinterest page that you extensively use for promoting your business.

On the Facebook page, make sure that you include some interesting graphics and animation slides that actually hold the attention of the consumer. Most infographics and statistical charts are shared through this manner on the Facebook page of brands. Infographics are images that creatively blend lot of information in a sequenced manner.

While sharing infographics on social media platforms such as Facebook and Pinterest, all you need to do is add a little note that is relevant with the pictures. This increases the ease of referring these infographics.

Social Media Marketing Strategies for Small Businesses | Bosmol Social Media News

Social Media Marketing Strategies for Small Businesses

Operating any type of business in today’s economic atmosphere can be tough, but a small startup trying to branch out is really up against a lot. Not only does the sheer amount of competition hinder one’s odds of success, but the fact that you’re not an established, trusted brand really works against you in social media and with online advertising in general.

Luckily, there are a few different strategies you can implement in order to turn the tables. Instead of being seen as another in a long line of disconnected, self-interested, Johnny-come-lately businesses, you can use social media marketing techniques to be seen as a trusted, socially-aware, caring brand.

Social Media Strategies to Implement for Small and Startup Ventures

Facebook Marketing

Using Facebook for business doesn’t cover the entire gamut of social media options, but it is the most popular site and thus gives you the most marketing options. While you still want to explore sites like Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other popular networks, Facebook is where you should put in the most investment to start.

With Facebook marketing, think about reaching out as a brand. You want to go beyond advertising your services and instead engage people. This can be done in a few inexpensive ways, including:

  • Creating intriguing, interactive promotions (games, puzzles, etc) that offer people real incentives for their participation through email addresses, mobile numbers, or some other trade-off

  • Posting material that gets directly to the root of the niche; i.e. solving a common problem with your market and doing it in a fun new way

  • Encouraging sharing and other engagement through calls to action to ensure that the word is spread about your brand

  • Making the most of ad formats like Sponsored Stories and Promoted Posts, reaching a large number of News Feeds

  • Using a Facebook marketing tool, like a great ad-management app, in order to control your costs, test your ads, and target the right demographics

Email Marketing

Though it’s a method as old as email itself, it’s still a great way to implement a solid social marketing campaign. To start this type of campaign, you’re going to need a mass mailer and/or auto-responder, a good word processor for formatting, and a great angle to pitch.

Using promotions from Facebook and other tactics that drive people to opt into your network in some fashion (newsletters, RSS feeds, etc), you can build a big list of subscribers and send out emails with your pitch.

You can also tie mobile marketing in here, with promotions and other lures that require people’s mobile numbers. You can get really personal with this type of ad, using people’s names and marketing directly to them. The idea with email marketing and mobile marketing is to reach out to people directly to pull them further into the funnel.

Article Marketing

This is a great type of marketing based on the cost-effectiveness of providing written content to various article directories, blogs, and other sites that accept content. The idea behind article marketing/content marketing is to provide an intriguing article which contains a link back to another destination.

The best articles are product reviews, how-to and tips-based articles, and other articles that offer information in a streamlined, easy-to-read format. Don’t be very wordy. Break your content up with subheadings and bullets. And always edit your work. A misspelling is bound to slip by occasionally, but sloppy work just won’t cut it.

Referral Marketing

You can offer a referral system and promote it through social media sites, email marketing, or through your articles. You can create landing pages and drive traffic there through a wide assortment of tactics. The important thing is that you pin down how you want the referral system to work.

For instance, maybe you’re offering someone 10% off of a purchase if they refer people. Or maybe you want to give away free products if someone refers X number of people. By adding incentive to share, your brand spreads a lot quicker through the social atmosphere. As long as you’re offering something of value, people will always want to participate.

General Tips to Use with the Marketing Methods

The marketing methods listed above can help a small business expand in the social realm. However, there are a few things that you want to keep in mind universally. Whatever you’re doing, remember:

  • Keep the quality of your posts up, presenting professional material

  • Make your content very intriguing to your audience to draw engagement

  • Cater directly to a specific niche by solving a problem

  • Market on a regular basis to show consistency

  • Be very consistent with your brand image across different channels and methods

  • Don’t be afraid to mix things up a bit; different promotions, videos, infographics, etc

  • Always research the market and follow various hashtags and trends, competitors, and other aspects of the market so that you can change and adapt where necessary

  • Don’t skimp on the tools you need to market successfully, whether it’s analytics software, an ad-management tool, a photo and video editor, or any other tool you can use

Small businesses don’t have to be behind the proverbial 8 ball simply because they’re newer to the scene and don’t have the capital available that larger corporations do. By taking advantage of the different types of social marketing online, any small business can ultimately earn a big reach.

How to Build a Next-Gen Marketing Team for Your Organization? | Bosmol Social Media News

http://i0.wp.com/bosmol.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Next-Generation-Marketing.png?fit=450%2C200An all-out marketing onslaught to beat the sense out of your brand competitors requires a superb marketing plan, and an extraordinary marketing team to implement the same. In this digital age, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that digital marketing has assumed equal or even greater importance than your traditional marketing channels and thus having a good balance is exceptionally vital for an organization’s success.  Here are the basics of hiring the best talent.

Organizations, no matter how small or big needs a good marketing team to get it going. A good product without good marketing has a hard time surviving in the cut-throat competition. For good marketing one has to have the right team. There are a lot of people out there who have their own views about hiring the best marketing people. According to some, experienced professionals with experience in digital are the best, while for other hiring executives, fresh graduates who have a will to learn do the job perfect. Some would like you to believe that a specialist for every role will be best while others suggest a team where individuals can don multiple hats

Here are some tips for hiring a next gen marketing team for your company:

Find candidates with strategy and vision

The first step to devising any successful marketing plan is to have a vision. Every recruiter wants to know where the prospective employee wants to take the brand. What is his idea about the ultimate achievement? Does the vision of the company align with that of the candidate’s? Next you need to ask the candidate about his strategic initiatives to achieve the vision.

If you want an employee who can succeed in the given position and proceed to higher levels of hierarchy, say become a marketing manager from an executive, you have to make sure that the individual is equipped with strategic capabilities. Individuals who bring in strategy know how to properly allocate resources to achieve maximum results. However make sure to find the balance between strategic marketers who plan for longer-range campaigns and tactile marketers who work on current one.

Hire candidates who are willing to learn

In the rapidly changing marketing landscape, one has to be constantly on his toes so as to not remain behind the evolving times. Especially, when we talk about digital marketing, where nothing is permanent, it becomes imperative to have employees who are dedicated to learning. The best marketers out there are called full-stack marketers who can boast of a working knowledge of everything that has to do with business marketing and are not just limited to search engine or social media marketing.

Find leaders who are ready for the next big challenge

When staffing your marketing team, it’s essential to hire capable candidates for a leadership positions such as VP Marketing or CDO (Chief Digital Officer) or Chief Content Marketer (CCM). Hiring the wrong candidate at the top of the team can destroy your entire plan for the year and leave you stranded, nowhere to go. To make it easier and less risky proposition, state your expectations clearly while putting the word out for VP marketing jobs and similar positions.

Armed with these tips you can proceed to building a new age marketing team should consists of team individuals who focus on what the audience sees, inclusive of the graphical interface, visual design, content and the navigation. These roles include:

Content Strategists and Creators: Entirely responsible for content part of the site. It’s the responsibilities of these team members to ensure definitive answers to questions like:

  • Is the content addressed to right target audience?

  • Does the content facilitate a conversation?

  • Does it make sense to the company’s vision?

  • Does it make sense to the search engines?

  • Is the content publishing at the right intervals?

Search Engine Marketers: These are responsible for making sure the website, and the content ranks high on the search engine results page for the targeted keywords. Amongst search engine marketers there are various specializations, such as search engine optimizer, social media manager, the PPC specialist and the Email marketer.  It depends on your hiring strategy either you hire a candidate who is expert in one area or has an experience in all the areas of search engine marketing.

Graphic Designers: Visual appeal always had an important role to play in the success of any marketing initiative. In the digital age, the onus lies on graphic designers to make the stuff like content, mailers, landing page make look pretty and interactive. The graphic designer facilitates a smooth entry, a longer stay and a swift checkout on the website.

Coders and Testers: Someone has to take care of the bugs, built new landing pages, check the necessary A/B split-testing code. The Front-End coder also forms an integral part of the next-gen marketing team.

In addition to these cogs of the wheel, you need a leader who can make sure the train stays on the track. A person who knows how to motivate the troop and keep them marching forward in the right direction. Such a role can have different position, inclusive of Chief Digital Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and others.

Utilizing Transactional Business Emails | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Business Transactional EmailsYou may be a successful email marketer when it comes to your online business but there is also something you might be overlooking that could give you some extraordinary conversions.

This thing is your transactional emails, and if you have any customers or users at all, you’re already sending them regularly without taking advantage of the amazing opportunity they offer your marketing campaign.

Before we get down to explaining just why transactional emails are so powerful, let’s actually define what we’re talking about.

What are Transactional Emails?

Quite simply, transactional emails are all those one at a time messages you send to your users or customers as a response to interaction with your website, app or services. Transactional emails can be automated but they aren’t promotional by nature and they’re not mass mailed to a list of addresses.

Some common examples of transactional emails include: welcome emails, shipping and order confirmations, comment notifications, renewal notices and billing messages. You’re almost certainly already sending at least some of these to your users regularly.

Their transaction related nature is what gives such power to transactional messages. In a world where 191 billion emails get sent daily and the average amount of inbox clutter reaches as many as 47 messages per day, transactional messages, due to their direct relevance to your users, have a tendency to stick out from the heap and get opened.

Just How Powerful are Transactional Messages?

To make you understand just how powerful at getting attention transactional emails can be, let’s cover some of the analytics metrics gathered on them by the email management company Easy SMTP –You can also check out their rather compelling infographic here.

Most average performing promotional email campaigns of the usual sort typically get open rates of just 15% and unique click rates of a measly 3%. These numbers can vary but they represent a common average. On the other hand, transactional emails sent to the same recipients from a company are often opened at a rate of more than 100% (due to multiple openings by the same user) and get unique clicks on their internal links at a rate of 17% or more!

These are remarkable numbers, and if you leverage them to your advantage by turning your transactional messages into marketing vehicles, you can really boost your marketing campaign and financial bottom line. Let’s cover some highly effective tactics now, and look at their metrics as tested by Easy SMTP.

Turning Transactional Clicks into Conversions

With the power your transactional emails have to make your viewers notice you even more, it’s only natural that you should take advantage of them for maximal benefit and increased bottom lines. There is a tested and highly effective way to do this; simply take the following steps and keep applying them as you experiment with their details:

  • Serialize your Transactional Messages: Instead of simply sending out a single welcome email or just one order confirmation, find clever ways of breaking them down into two or more messages that both contain useful transaction related content. This way you take the greatest possible advantage of your email messages attention grabbing power. Furthermore, serializing messages has been shown to boost revenue by as much as 13%

  • Say “Thank You”: By simply including a clearly visible and well written thank you notice in your shipping and order confirmations (as well as other messages) you can increase clicks by 35% or more! Everybody loves a polite message.

  • Personalize your Messages and Us them to cross sell: Personalizing emails to the name and previous browsing/buying history of each recipient can effectively increase unique clicks by 41%. If you go even further with this and include cross sell offers based on your recipients previous purchases or interest areas, you can also boost sales revenue by 20%..

  • Be Social: Adding social media share buttons to all of your transactional emails and making them clearly visible can increase unique clicks by 55%. Furthermore, it will also help you spread your brand name through word of mouth. We’ve discussed this in more detail before.

  • Finally, Experiment with the Team: Get your marketing team involved and have them A/B test wherever possible. Use multiple email templates that you’ve customized for audience type and track the metrics for all of them to see which ones perform best.

A Final Word on SPAM

The U.S CAN SPAM Act is very specific on what a transactional email can and cannot include. Thus, if you want to avoid having your interaction related transaction messages labeled as spam and accordingly suffering the consequences, make sure that they remain fundamentally transaction related in nature. Most importantly, ensure that they still contain their intended transactional message and that their subject heading is related to your users’ original queries.

Who Has Unfriended You On Facebook | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Facebook UnfriendIn addition to showing users a timeline of their activity on the site throughout the years, it turns out that Facebook’s new Timeline profile provides a rundown of which friends they’ve lost.

Here’s how you can see which friends you’ve lost:

1. Enable the new Facebook timeline.

2. Pick a year in the timeline and locate the “Friends” box.

3. Click on “Made X New Friends.”

4. Scroll through the list. Where you see an “Add Friend” box, you know that you are no longer friends with that person. If you haven’t unfriended them, they’ve unfriended you.

There’s still no real-time Facebook alert for an unfriend. But if you’re really interested in learning more and more quickly about your declining online popularity, a browser plugin like Better Facebook is a good alternative which has helped many companies and businesses clean up their profiles.

Why Should You Take An Offline Class In SEO, Google Adwords And Social Media? | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Internet Marketing TrainingI bet you took a course in SEO, to learn Google Adwords or Social Media Marketing training already, either for free or for a fee.

And I bet that course was held entirely online. Nothing wrong with that — the web provides great tools to build a successful and valuable course, so you did well to enroll and work through the syllabus.

BUT — while online marketing courses may be good and valuable, they still miss 4 important factors—

  • They don’t give you a tangible sense of the classroom, so you feel alone most of the time

  • You have no chance to discuss directly with a group of people and just brainstorm ideas on the go as you talk

  • You have to wait to get instructor’s feedback and can’t just raise your hand and ask a question

  • You miss the chance to work in group, face to face, on a problem on a short time gap

Sure, teleconference tools like Skype and Google Hangouts help nowadays, but you’ll still be sitting in your room alone and your body won’t be able to ‘perceive’ the community, the value of human interactions behind the learning experience.

Yes, perceptions are important and help ‘catch’ the soul of SEO needs, issues and solutions long before the brain converts them into words.

How Offline SEO, Google Adwords, Social Media Training Classes Benefits You

You Can Talk Face-To-Face With Trained Experts

It’s hard to get in touch with SEO, Adwords and Social Media experts online. Why? Well, because they’re busy folks. It’s tough for them to make time for every ‘pupil’, so they only organize limited webinars and hangouts when they can.

Offline classes, on the other hand, allow trained experts to dedicate more time and individual attention to every student. You can have real conversations and debates about the latest Google updates, Adwords best practices and Social Media news.

You Feel The Sense Of Community In The Classroom

Unlike in an online class, being with other students in the same classroom help you develop a sense of community that will accompany you throughout the course and help you work together on projects.

The sense of community is also beneficial to the professional relationships that will spark from the time spent together. It’s great networking!

You Get Personalized Training

In a regular classroom, the instructor will follow your progress step by step, tutor you if you need help to master concepts and give you feedback on the go, as soon as you need it.

This is much better than in an online class, where the instructor can’t attend to the needs of thousands of students. In-person training helps you walk away with solid knowledge because you get the instructor’s time and attention as a bonus.

Just Raise Your Hand And Ask!

You know how it works in online classes — you post a question and have to wait in line before you get a reply from the instructor or a TA.

In an offline class, just raise your hand and ask!

This is beneficial to your traineeship, because any doubt in SEO and Social Media planning — and especially with Adwords, where big money is involved — could kill your campaign in the blink of an eye.

So— just ask!

Group Work On SEO, Adwords And Social Media Problems

Curious people gather to solve problems, and curiosity is definitely an SEO thing. Learning Google Adwords and Social Media also ask you to share insight and experiments, because the world of online marketing fields is ever changing.

An offline training class offers you great opportunities to share your know-how and work together to solve problems.

Wondering why offline conferences like the Seach Marketing Expo exist?

You Will Enjoy The Environment And Feel More Active

A constructive and challenging classroom climate and environment can help your brain focuson the material hand and learn faster.

While studying online can get you easily distracted, a classroom provides the ambient and atmosphere for ideas to spark and grow as you share them with other students and the instructor.

You Connect Face-To-Face With Fellow Professionals

It’s an offline training class, so you’ll definitely be making friends. Professional networking is more effective in person because it’s easier to build trust — you’re in front of your fellow students, you speak your knowledge and share your ideas in front of them. There’s no need to explain — they can see and hear!

And uhm… you can alway swap business cards, right? ;)

Remember…

SEO, Google Adwords and Social Media require hands on work.

This is much easier to learn when you work in groups and have socialized a bit in person with instructors and the other students.

Enjoy the classes and make the most out of each! ;)

Google Places Local Citations List | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Google Maps Local CitationsThis is one of three critical elements in citations. Do not overlook the value of what slowly said here. You MUST always use exactly the same Name Address Phone number information on every citation. Make sure that you do not have two businesses using that phone number on the web. If you own a dry cleaning business, do not also advertise that number for your sons lawn mowing service. The NAP must only be in use in one place on line for you to get the full benefit.  Don’t try to broaden your customer information by using different verbage (I knew that is not a word, but the word “verbiage” is not what I mean here) in the citations.  Always us the same NAP, and if you describe your business as an auto repair show that specializes in front end alignment, so not say tune ups in an effort to give more information to your customers in other citations. Keep the description general, and use the exact same thing every time.

Google Places is responsible for all of the local results you find on the top of Google’s search pages.  Businesses that take advantage of high rankings with Google Places are getting more exposure than their weak competition.

So, what does Google Places look for when they rank local businesses?

Many of you are probably thinking backlinks.  Many of you are wrong.

The regular Google algorithm counts backlinks as a “vote” for your site in the regular search engine results, but those fancy shmancy local results that pop up at the top of the page are Google Places results and Google places doesn’t give a rat’s a** about backlinks.  What they do care about are citations.

A citation is when your business name, address, and telephone number appear on the web.  What does this tell you?  It should tell you that you need to get as many citations as possible!

Don’t Misread Your Visitor’s – Why People Still Use XP | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

xp windowsMany make the presumption that building their websites, apps, and plugins for the latest operating systems is the right way to go. This leads to many products being made available for Windows 8 and Windows 7 users, but not so much for anyone with Windows XP or Windows Vista.

However, the truth is that there are still many people that use older Windows operating systems. As you are not tailoring your products for these people, you may be inadvertently sending them away. There may be certain parts of your website that don’t view properly, certain apps that don’t work at all, and etc.

Why People Still Use Older Operating Systems

There are many reasons why someone may be stuck using an older operating system.

For example, a user’s newer computer could break down or they may be looking to buy their first computer. So they look on Gumtree or check out OLX to see what’s available. At this point, they find that the options of cheap desktop computers mainly have older operating systems. Given that Windows XP can fill most needs, many do not see buying a computer with it as being an issue.

It is also true that people avoid using Windows 8 due to the extensive problems that it has. It is viewed as being an operating system meant for tablets and other touch screen devices. It’s been plagued with disastrous issues on desktops and laptops alike.

Windows 7 is not nearly as problematic. It is also supported by Microsoft still, while Windows XP is not supported.

How Many People Really Use Windows XP and Windows Vista?

This is only a concern if the numbers are there. Sadly, the truth is that the numbers are indeed there.

As of April 2014, Windows XP is the second biggest operating system by market share, making up for 26.29% of users. That’s pretty alarming considering it was released to the public 13 years ago. The same statistic shows that Windows 7 takes up nearly half of the market share. Windows 8 users only make up for 6.36% not that far from Windows Vista users at 2.89% market share.

What all this means is that there are still many users viewing the Internet from computers containing older operating systems. More specifically, there are still many Windows XP users around – even though the operating system is not supported. This makes it seem that these users will continue to use XP for many years to come.

How a Website Owner Can Use This Information

If these statistics are anywhere close to accurate for your website, you would be turning down more than one in four visitors that go to your website if you don’t think about XP. The truth is that a website could end up looking deformed on XP vs. newer operating systems. Plug-ins and apps could also not work at all.

The software that can be used on Windows XP is different as well. This means that certain things you have available for download may not work on their computer.

Ultimately, you just need to be conscious to the fact that many visitors to your website may be viewing from a Windows XP computer. If this is actually the case, you will want to make sure that everything views properly and works when accessed with a Windows XP computer.

Are Computer Bots Getting Too Smart? | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Computer-BotsUndetectable robot invaders. Hackers are not quite there yet, but they are getting closer. This article will address the current state of bot technology; how they help make the internet more efficient, how they are also used for devious purposes. Do you know what bots you’re dealing with?

Bot Proliferation

Generally speaking, internet bots are not created to cause harm. They travel across cyberspace performing repetitive tasks at speeds far greater than of any human user. Many of these benevolent bots are search engine crawlers, tasked with logging content from countless web pages. These Good Bots comprise about 32% of total web activity.

Because these bots gather information, to do a proper job they require some basic access to a website’s server. Unfortunately, hackers have honed in on the process of a website letting down its defenses to acquire entry for their own devilish bots. Once a bot reaches the Application Layer of the TCP, they are liable to perform DDoS, or Distributed Denial of Service attacks, with the intention of taking down the victim’s server.

DDoS Zombie Bots

In order to wield the kind of firepower needed to take down a commercial website, hackers gather herds of bots called “botnets”. The ‘bots’ in this case are computers infected with malware or Trojans, or headless (user-less) browsers. Once infected, a computer’s processing strength is used for malicious purposes. The hacker (sometimes called a “shepherd”) can send these bots to attack a single server with the click of a button. Most serious botnets have tens of thousands of ‘zombie’ bots at their disposal.

Zombie Bot Evolution

Some types of DDoS or other harmful bots are easily filtered out by firewalls or simple hardware installations, but recent research shows that these tools are fast becoming obsolete. The pace of hacker innovation is causing concern across the cyber landscape.

Online security service provider Incapsula recently came out with a DDoS Treat Landscape report of web activity over the last 15 months that lends insight into the current state of website vulnerability. Incapsula has identified bots that are now capable of accepting cookies, and executing JS—two common bot filtering methods.

According to the report, close to 30% of the bots encountered accepted cookies, and 0.8% executed JS. Although these numbers are still small compared to the remaining “primitive” bots scouring the web, these developments paint a grim picture of what’s to come. Once a new type of malicious bot technology becomes available, it is often adapted by the rest of the hacking community at alarming speeds.

Defense against ‘Smart’ Bots

In the context of these advancements in bot technology, the cyber defense industry is fighting to stay ahead of the curve. Online security services must respond to a difficult question; how to distinguish between bots and human users without having to deploy CAPTCHAs or other invasive measures which tend to hinder the user experience.

Mac Vs PC College Computer Review | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Apple MacbookSo you’re off to college or university – you’re going to need a laptop to help you with your studies. Which means you’ll need to answer one question before you do any shopping around: do you go for an Apple machine or a PC?

A good place to start your shopping (window or otherwise!) is www.ebay.co.uk where there is a huge range of laptops on offer. But before you do that, here are some pointers to help you jump one way or the other.

What tools does your course require?

One of the key influences on your decision is the kind of software you’ll be using throughout your course. The Guardian’s Ask Jack Blog suggests speaking with college or university staff to find out which software they recommend.

Apple MacBooks support a particularly strong suite of graphics and video editing software. Studying business? Then perhaps a PC laptop would be a better bet thanks to being a good platform for Microsoft Office. Having said that, it’s perfectly possible to run applications such as Microsoft Excel on Macs, but you’d need to get used to the different shortcuts and hotkeys.

Do you need to get hands on?

Allow yourself a buffer period before the hard work starts so that you can get used to your new laptop. If you’ve used PCs in the main, you’ll need to find your way around a Mac, and vice versa. The Windows operating system is very different from Mac OS X. It’s a matter of preference as to which is better for you, so it’s a good idea to try both if you’re undecided. See if your friends will let you try their machines out for size.

Where will you do your work?

The build quality of your laptop is important, and here Macs often have the upper hand. Solidly built and with an aluminium casing, they’re designed to both look good and withstand the rigours of being thrown into a bag and bumped around during a last-minute dash to a lecture. High-end Acer laptops also feature metal bodies.

Make sure you try out the keyboards on different devices. Macs feature island-style keyboards, where each key is clearly separated from the next. Sony Vaio laptops also feature this. If you’re going to be typing in a darkened hall, think about backlit keyboards – another feature of both Macs and Vaios.

Need for speed?

Although it’s a good idea to choose a Mac or PC laptop with as fast a processor as possible – especially if you’re creating visual content – there does come a point when speed ceases to be so useful. Macs and PC laptops with Intel Core i5 processors are very nearly as capable as Core i7 versions, but cost much less.

What’s your budget?

Macs are traditionally much more expensive than PC laptops, thanks to their superior build quality and often more feature-packed, inbuilt software. However, PC laptops with similar features can be just as much. Portability, battery life, hard drive space, processor speed; all of these features and more will push up the price of your laptop. The advantage of a PC device is you have much more control over what features you include and pay for.

Free Online Content Plagiarism Checker Reviewed | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

content-plagiarism-checkerThere are many ways to detect if an article is original or just copied from somewhere else. With the ease of finding unique articles on the web it can be tempting to reuse one of these under your own name. This is a bad idea especially with the abundance of plagiarism checkers. Not only are there many options, but also many are free with paid subscriptions available for heavy users.

High school teachers and college professors to check if a paper is original or copied by a student often use popular plagiarism checkers. This has helped thwart of cheaters in many schools; forcing students to write their own papers.

Another major use is by search engines, article writes, bloggers, etc. Anyone who published content on the web should be using a plagiarism checker to ensure their content is original and not stolen from outside sources. This is because duplicate content will not rank online as the search engines want to see original content and not rehashed content.

The most popular free (with the optional paid version) plagiarism checker is CopyScape.

Using Social Search as Part of Your Social Networking Strategy | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Social Search Engine OptimizationSocial media sites are growing at a rapid pace. As a greater number of people log into sites like Facebook and Twitter, their importance to business owners and marketers increases. Social media should be a major part of any business’ marketing plan, but many people still overemphasize traditional SEO. Although many companies are switching their focus to social platforms, a significant number are missing the value of optimizing their brands for social search.

What is Social Search?

Social search is a common term that is becoming increasingly popular among marketers and business owners. Oftentimes it is used to talk about two different types of social searching. They’re both important to your social networking strategy, and it’s vital you understand the two separate concepts:

  • Searching Social Media – The first type of social searching is done by tracking social media activity. Popular options to search activity on social media sites are Sysomos and Social Mention. These services browse through the most used sites like Facebook and Twitter to find mention of a specific keyword or search term. They’re often sorted by listing the most recent occurrence first. This is useful for tracking trends and new activity.

  • Socially-Influenced Search Engines – Socially-influenced search engines return social media pages just like Google or Yahoo would. Instead of their results being sorted by an algorithm, however, they use their collective power of their users’ logic to sort results. After visiting a website, members of search engines like SocialSu can rate their experience, helping refine future searches. Ranking well on these sites is about having highly informative pages that are easy for users to navigate. They’re perfect for integrating your content marketing campaigns with your social presence.

Being Found is Important

The most important thing on social media is to have your profiles and web presence found. To optimize for social search, make sure to include common synonyms within your profile and posts. Be careful not to overdo it – no one likes a write-up that is keyword stuffed and comes across as spam.

As important as having the right semantic keywords are, it’s even more important to have detailed and informative content on your profile pages. Smart social search engines rank more complete and user-appealing pages higher. Include as much information as possible about your business and the products and services you offer.

Tracking New Marketing Options

In addition to getting you company found, focusing on social search can have other benefits to your marketing campaign. Search sites that scan social media platforms are the perfect way to track trends, in real time, that may be of use to your business. You can see what other users are doing online and customize your efforts based on what’s happening right then. You can also see a search phrase’s popularity over time and see any long-term or seasonal trends among users.

Take Advantage of Relevant Hashtags

On sites like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, hashtags are being used every second. They’re a great way to link related posts and images, and even better for exposing consumers to your brand. Many users will search social sites by popular hashtags. By using these in your posts and online content, you’re able to reach users that you have no other connection to. Growing companies can also promote their own hashtag for further develop their brands

There’s little doubt that social search will continue to become more important in the future. As a greater number of websites and search engines are putting emphasis on how consumers interact with your business, you should focus more on social optimization. Including social search into your social networking strategy can mean having a steadily increasing stream of new visitors in the future.
