Majestic SEO Free Backlink Report

Majestic SEO Free Backlink Report

Majestic SEO is a very powerful link analysis tool used by SEO specialists, affiliate marketers, and business owners alike.  It can show you advanced results to help your website rank at the top of the search engines for various keywords.

There are so many uses for this tool such as: link analysis, competitor analysis, link building, reputation management, monitoring backlink profiles, etc.  There is so much this tool can do and it is extremely useful for SEO companies.

A nice benefit that many people do not know exists is the free report they offer for verified site owners. What this means is that if you own a website you are entitled to a free backlink analysis.  Although this is not all the tool does, it is one of the most widely used features.

To enable this all you need to do is sign up for an account and add your website as a verified site.  Create a free account at http://www.MajesticSeo.com and go to reports.  Add a new report and on the next page it will ask you if you own this domain and want to get a free report.  Click on the link that says free report or go to this URL: http://www.majesticseo.com/reports/create-free-report to get your free report.  Once here you will need to upload a .txt file with a verification code for the name. The easiest way to do this is with a FTP client such as FileZilla.  Save a blank notepad file with the code given to you by Majestic SEO.  You will then upload this to the root directory of your website.  If you are confused you can call your hosting company and they will gladly walk you through the process.  Once this has been completed you will need to wait a few minutes to a few hours for Majestic SEO to gather all back link profile data.

You are given three report types for few, standard, advanced, and tracking (BETA).  I would suggest using the advanced as this will give you more details about the backlinks and where they point to on your site.  It also lets you see if links are going to http://yoursite.com or http://www.yoursite.com which is seen as two different websites by the search engines.

The report shows an overview of all your backlinks, a history showing when they were discovered,

Your link profile which analyzes trust and citation flow, referring country for domains, anchor text used, internal URL rankings, top-level domains (TLD), referring domain, and IP addresses.

The reports are even updated every time you log back in with fresh data so you can always know what is going on with your website and how it is looking to the search engines when it comes to backlinks.  You can even download and export entire reports of your backlinks, anchor text used, linking domain, and much more useful information.

Create A Multilingual Wordpress Website | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Multilingual WordPress Website

Multilingual WordPress Website

The Internet has opened avenues across the world and people of various regions and nationalities use the web extensively. This being the scenario, it is time to think of reaching out to people who do not speak, read or communicate in English or a few other international languages. The only answer seems to be to go multilingual. If you could think of making your

site multilingual, think of the amount of international traffic that will be diverted to your site, it is simply mind boggling. Here are a few tips on how to make your WordPress site multilingual and reap the benefits.

Now that you have decided to create a website in other languages as well, you don’t have to worry too much about the framework in which you site is already programmed. When you use WordPress, you have the benefit of many options in the form of plugins that should make the task a lot easier, saving precious time in the process. Each plugin comes with a unique list of features, depending on what the ultimate goal and objective of your site are. All you need to do is to plan meticulously and execute.

Start with localizing WordPress

Did you know that the installation of WordPress can be localized to several languages?  Whenever you go to the homepage and download WordPress, you will find that the default language is English, if you just go to the ‘WordPress in your language’ section on Codex, you will be able to install your preference for WordPress backend. There are many options that you can use to do your translations. However, you need to be prepared to spend some time and money in order to get a perfect translation that is acceptable to you and your client.

Plugins for translations

The easiest method of translating the content in your WordPress to several other languages is to resort to using Google’s excellent tool, the API V2, which is a script based on JavaScript and provides options for machine language based translation. Google assists in translating automatically the content and posts on the website as per your requirements. The Google AJAX plugin is an excellent way to begin with.

Plenty of benefits

This form of instant translation is very beneficial to site owners as the person seeking to translate will never have to leave your site even for a minute. In today’s fast paced world, you cannot afford a customer to get diverted even for a second, as it is important to hold the attention of a visitor to your site.  The great thing is that you do not have to do anything much other than having the plugin in position. Another great advantage is that you can choose any of Google’s languages that are available without having to pay anything extra.

Pay and Use

The only drawback, if you could call it that is that you need to pay $20 per month for using Google Translator API, version 2, with a cap of 50 million characters. Another point to remember is that the Google brand presence will be felt as all the translated documents will carry the Google stamp. You may also run the risk of having to put up with subtle errors as the work is being done by a machine. The saving grace however is that you can use Google’s Translation Editor to check the content for errors that may have crept in.

Help from Servers for translation plugins

Alternatively, for those of you who wish to exercise more control over the content in other languages, the option of open source software exists. These server-side plugins are adept at handling general website translation issues. The best would be to explore possibilities of creating a development WordPress install and check out how it works for you. There are some multilingual WordPress plugins like Multilingual Press that make it a lot easier to build multilingual websites and use WordPress’ multisite feature, for which you need to first setup WordPress multisite installation. If you anticipate more traffic in a particular language, you could devote a site or blog exclusively for that language and have Multilingual-Press create duplication of content.

How to detect the user’s language

You don’t have to wrack your brains too much about how to detect what the user’s language is. There are WordPress plugins that are specifically meant to detect the user’s location and language. The other multilingual plugin options that you could investigate are qTranslate, Polyglot, mLanguage, Language Switcher. In case you need more options, a search for WP plugin directory will yield excellent results.  You will find plugins that are listed with ratings, and you should obviously choose the ones with the best ratings. However, Google is yet to create a mechanism to differentiate translated content from content that has been duplicated in another language. An element of risk does exist.

The Importance of Updating Your Site for Mobile Applications | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Mobile Applications

Mobile Applications

According to StatCounter.com, mobile device users make up for 14.35-percent of the worldwide Internet browsers as of February, 2013. This is more than 6-percent higher than it was a year ago. Although the numbers are starting to level out somewhat for the two months prior, there is still continued growth. Mobile Internet browsing is an important aspect of life worldwide. Why should you care about such usage by mobile device users?

1. Accommodating - According to the numbers above, nearly one out of seven people that visit your website could be using a mobile device. If the pages are too detailed and image heavy for a mobile user to benefit from, they will move on and most likely not return. What makes these pages unattractive for mobility?

  • Font sizes

  • Images

  • Tables larger than 1200 pixels

  • Inability to scale down

2. Business Perspective - According to Statista, Inc., 11-percent of e-commerce sales were completed from mobile devices. If you own an e-commerce website, approximately 1 out of ever 10 buyers could be from mobile devices. The data also suggests that this number is continuing to rise at it has been since 2010. If your website isn’t mobile device friendly, you could be missing out on a great deal of income. If you haven’t invested time into discovering what you can do to improve the functionality of your site, you better do so quickly as your competition is raking in the benefits.

3. Not a Fad - As smartphones were coming into the spotlight, many speculated that mobile computing of this nature was nothing more than a fad and the tablet computers are nothing more than experimental units that won’t gain traction. Nearly every statistical analysis since 2010 shows a steady growth of mobile technology. As these devices become more and more sophisticated, it could be laptops and netbooks that could be viewed as fads. According to the data provided by Forrester Research, Inc., laptop and netbook sales will level as desktop PCs drop. However, tablet PC sales grew surpassing each PC unit type as of 2012 and is estimated to continue being on the top for the next few years. This doesn’t mean that mobile PC computers were a fad, though. This just means that people are drawn to mobility and practicality over general functionality in a heavier and more awkward to carry product.

4. Site Longevity - As more and more mobile devices take to the Internet, you need to make preparations to make sure you can capitalize on this growth. Before you realize what is happening, mobile devices could surpass desktop and laptop browsing and your site could suffer by not providing a method for these visitors to utilize. As the competition is very high for virtually any niche on the Internet, you need to ensure that your site is among those that can be utilized by all before it fades to a dim memory of its previous former glory.

Redesigning your site for mobile functionality can be accomplished a number of ways depending on how your site is constructed. Some sites can use CSS coding to reshape images and more to fit hand-held screens, while others can utilize redirected domain names such as http://mobile.yoursite.com in order to accommodate this growing trend of mobile browsing by providing a smaller version of your site. Don’t dismiss the numbers because it is doubtful that your competition has.

Google’s Knowledge Graph: How Can it Help in SEO? | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Google Knowledge Graph Search

Google Knowledge Graph Search

With each update from Google, the search results are becoming smarter as far as distinguishing words with different meanings.

What is Knowledge Graph?

Google announced its Knowledge Graph (KG) in May 2012. Its basic utility is to offer searchers with a factual summary of what they are searching for. This is especially applicable in cases of biographies of prestigious personalities, star cast of a film, musicians’ tour dates etc. It is available across the world and is displayed only if you enter a search string in English.

The primary objective, as stated by Google, of Knowledge Graph as a tool is to help you get:

  • The best summary

  • Accurate information

  • Deeper knowledge about a search string

Google’s basic purpose behind introducing KG is to facilitate a more intelligent search. You get a more relevant and refined search result as the tool enables the search engine to understand the entities and subtle differences in meanings of the words and phrases entered in the search box. It does it almost as immaculately as the human user, making a search engine think like a user.

Google‘s KG is primarily a knowledge base which consists of over 18 billion facts and 570 million objects. It has been continuously been updated since its inception, which includes the new feature of a sidebar that offers a snippet of the relevant facts and the ability of a search engine to differentiate between words with distinct meanings.

Prior to this tool, if you searched for ‘Eagles’, Google would display a mix of information including both the bird ‘eagle’ and the band ‘Eagles’. But now with KG, Google can offer results relevant to the ‘eagle’ you have searched for.

What are the benefits of Knowledge Graph?

Its greatest benefit is that it allows you to find exactly what you are searching for. It no longer gets confused between similar words with distinct meanings thereby offering you a more precise search result.

Advertisers can also benefit from this new feature. How? They will no longer have to battle with irrelevant search results for getting the valuable top right corner of the result page. As the pages are few, they have lesser competition for outranking your brand.

The tool also allows you to pull strings with the purpose of enhancing the reputation of your brand. This can be done by leading consumers to sources with the most pertinent brand messaging. You can update your content strategies for getting additional advantage of Knowledge Graph. You can contact a good Google SEO company for doing the job for you.

If you wish to know how KG can help your brand by displaying the right message about it, you have to be aware of the sources from which information is pulled by it. In order to understand it in details, you need to understand Knowledge Graph Sources.

What are Knowledge Graph Sources?

Wikipedia, CIA World Fact book and Freebase are the websites from where Knowledge Graph gathers its information, which is displayed in the right sidebar of Google’s SERP. You get to manipulate the information that is to be displayed when you submit the same to Knowledge Base Sources.

While submission in CIA-managed Fact book is next to impossible, other KG sources may provide you with SEO opportunities for enhancing your brand.

You can control the display of messages regarding your brand by getting yourself a page in Wikipedia. Once your brand gets a place in Knowledge Graph information in a SERP sidebar, it is essential for you to reexamine the summary content in order to determine its origin. This will prove to be helpful in case you wish to change the summary of your brand.

Content Strategy

On-site content strategies can be benefited by Knowledge Graph, particularly after the Google Panda update. Prior to this update, content strategies typically involved the development of unique pages using all the keywords. Then, two distinct pages were created for two distinct phrases with the same meaning. And each of the pages was optimized for one of the synonymous phrases.

Now the problem was that as the two pages were about the same topic, their content was bound to be similar. But under the Panda update, similar content was tagged as “thin content”, thus devaluing them. This became a threat for a Google SEO company.

But, with Knowledge Graph, this issue can be solved because of the tool’s ability to connect semantically similar phrases, thereby creating and optimizing a page that is capable of ranking for all synonyms. Thus, it not only allows a website to rank for several keywords but also offers a better user experience, while perfectly complying with Panda rules. A user gets benefited because he gets the exact information he requires without much effort.

4 Smart Ways to Get More LinkedIn Endorsements | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

LinkedIn Endorsements

LinkedIn Endorsements

I believe you’re familiar with the endorsement feature on LinkedIn. With this feature, you can easily endorse other people’s skills without having to write a lengthy, written recommendation.

In case you don’t know, the number of endorsement you receive affects your word- of mouth referrals, connections and search engine rankings.

So, do you want to get more LinkedIn endorsements? Here’s how…

          1.      Re–build your Endorsements

When I first started out on LinkedIn, I didn’t realized that I had skills from my previous career that made no sense to my current business (which is a guest blogging service) until I came across an article on vertical response. Since then, not only do I update my skills, I also moved them above my profile, and I got a couple clients as a result.

Pro tip: if you haven’t updated your skills since you opened your LinkedIn account, do it now.

For example, you may have listed skills that better applied to an old plumbing job. Now that you no longer work at that job, your current followers don’t know you for those skills.

Here’s a word of advice: visit your ”profile and skills” section, edit them for your current position.  This way, when people visit your profile, your current skills will pop up for them to endorse.

          2.      Don’t be selfish–Endorse Others

Yes, you read that right.  I didn’t mean to be rude–I just said that to dazzle you.

If you’re expecting others to endorse you, endorse them.

When you endorse your connections, they receive an email notification that you’ve endorsed them and that email notifies them to endorse you.

You see, it’s a win–win situation.  50/50. No cheating.

How to Endorse Others:

If you don’t know how to endorse others on LinkedIn, here’s how to do it:

          3.      Visit their Profile

Scroll down to ”skills and expertise section” and endorse the skills they claimed. It may be one, two, or three. It’s your choice!

          4.      Be Smart–Move your Expertise Section to the Top of your Profile

Yes. Make your profile visible so people can endorse you without having to scroll down your profile.

Here’s how to go about it:

Click to edit your skills.

Scroll down to the ”skills and expertise section”.

Place your curser on the ”skills and expertise” section and drag it up.

Drop the ”skills and expertise” section higher up on your profile so your connections can easily see it!

Your turn to ”Wow’’ me…

Have you edited your linkedIn profile since you opened it?

Have you started endorsing others? What are you waiting for?

What do you like about LinkedIn endorsement feature?

Do let me know what you think in the comments section. I’d be waiting to reply your comments

An Introduction to Eye-Fi Memory Card | Bosmol - Social Media & Web 2.0 Internet Marketing News

Eye-fi Digital memory CardEye-Fi is the world’s first memory card that is capable of wirelessly uploading images and videos from your camera to your computing devices. An Eye-Fi memory card in your camera can completely transform your photography experience by allowing you to only care about shooting pictures and videos and leaving the hassle of transferring the data from your camera to your laptop completely up to Eye-Fi. Your media files will be automatically and securely uploaded wherever you want them as long as you have access to Wi-Fi.

Eye-Fi memory cards store media files the same way any regular SDHC card would with the distinction that the files contained within an Eye-Fi memory card are not subject to a USB cable to get transferred to any of your other devices like laptops or smartphones. These memory cards also have an in-built geotagging feature so that you never have to wonder where you captured your photos again.

An ‘Endless Memory’ option can also be configured so that the Eye-Fi memory card automatically erases those media files that have been transferred to another device. This process can take place in the background without interrupting your camera’s performance as long you predetermine the disk space you want to use for this purpose.

As of now, Eye-Fi comes out with three variants of its Wi-Fi SD cards. All the models in effect offer an endless memory option and completely automatic uploading of videos and photos. Following is a list of its different models:

• Connect X2 – This model comes equipped with a 4GB internal storage. So if you do not wirelessly transfer your files then it can support only up to 4GB of data.

• Mobile X2 – This model has similar properties as the one above with the only difference being the memory storage – 8GB.

• Pro X2 – This is the most advanced Eye-Fi model which in addition to sporting a 16GB memory storage and the above features, also comes equipped with additional features such as incredibly faster speeds, raw file transfer and auto backup.

Because Eye-Fi memory cards can instantly transfer files to other wirelessly connected devices in one command anytime you want, in practical terms they leave your camera with an unlimited storage capacity. Every time you feel like your SD card is brimming with media files, you can simply turn on the Eye-Fi manager in your camera and upload its content to your laptop, tablet or smartphone and completely evacuate your memory.

Gone are those days when you had to concern yourself with messy cables every time you wanted to view the pictures shot using your digital camera on your laptop or upload them on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Eye-Fi negates the need for USB cables and the tiresome task of manually sifting through files on your SD card in order to add them to your pictures or video library. Eye Fi memory cards can allow users to shoot great looking pictures from their digital cameras and instantly share them online via their smartphones.
